Tony Wilson

Tony Wilson passed away recently after battling kidney cancer. Tony founded factory records and helped release a lot of music that has had a huge part in shaping my musical taste. Through Peter Savilles graphic design, assiging a FAC nuber to everything (including posters and buildings) and Martin Hannet's production on most of the early releases factory records developed a look and sound that helped set them apart from the more typical punk acts of the time. So here are some of my favorite songs that were released on Factory Records.

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark-Electricity (Single FAC 6)

Joy Division-Shadowplay (Unknown Pleasures FAC10)

ESG-You're No Good (Single FAC 34)

New Order-The Perfect Kiss (Low Life FAC 100)

The Wake-Here Comes Everybody (Single FAC 130)

Happy Mondays-Kinky Afro (Single FAC 302)
